When you open a patient's chart with the Easy Psychiatric Record Keeper you immediately see:

• A text editor with medical and psychiatric spell checking and ability to auto-expand words you abbreviate to save time. For example you can have Easy always expand "w" to "with"; "r" to "reduce"; "ant" to "antidepressant". Alternatively you can have it check with you before it makes an expansion. It knows all the psychiatric drugs.
• Create absolutely correctly worded DSM-IV diagnoses (all 5 axes) in seconds by picking from a tree structure of the APA diagnostic scheme. Your most recently used diagnoses are shown so you can quickly pick them up for reuse. A neat time saver!
Writing a Diagnosis . The user has expanded the Bipolar I tree to select a diagnosis. It appears at the bottom with its appropriate number.
• Print all or selected parts of the record with many options about what to include. An automatic print system lets you get all paper records up to date when you are ready to print.
• Import or export text to word processors.
• Place pictures or scanned images right in your notes.
• Print prescriptions ready for signing - usually with only a few clicks and no typing. Easy offers your last prescription for a particular drug on a particular patient as the "template" for the current prescription. That is usually what you want so no typing is needed.
• See the date a prescription will run out - calculated by Easy.

• Track Managed Care approvals. Easy automatically keeps track of visits as they are used and warns you when you want to - based on date or number of visits left - or both!
• Have clinical reminders available at all times. Easy has two kinds of reminders; one is like a note you stick on a chart and the other is like a note you keep in your pocket.
• Display lists of patients not seen since a certain date, or patients at a particular office location (halfway house, hospital or clinic) or both!
Instant Recall. One keystroke brought up this window showing all medication changes on this patient. Just as in a paper chart, these notations are in the progress notes, but the computer can find and display them in a moment.
"Easy" lets you create the kind of record you want. You can create your own forms and short pieces of reusable text.
You can create "forms" which contain anything from a few words to a long history text. Red markers can be placed in forms to guide you in completing the form. Placeholder words in forms can automatically personalize the form with the date, patient's name, nickname, gender, social security number and many other items.
With the network version, a secretary can be entering data, a billing person can be working in a chart and you can too. You could all be seeing the same patient's chart! The network version is well suited to group practices and clinics. Inquire about availability.

(A user, also to be called a "signer," is a person who has a "signature" in the program. A non-signer could be a support person who has a password to use the program but does not enter notes and sign charts with the F8 hot key. A signer can have more than one password and thus more than one office letterhead - but since the signer's name is same in each instance it counts as one signer. Maintenance upgrades are free for one year and $50 per year thereafter.)

• A QuickPrint window for printing text without the usual format of a chart; for example, lab requests, patient instructions or a letter about the patient.

• The prescription writer has been further enhanced with more convenient display of old scripts and it can now put your signature on the prescription for you in cases where you want to fax directly to a pharmacy.
