This patient appears to be taking a subtherapeutic dose of the neuroleptic. There is no parkinsonism, no akathisia and - if haloperidol is the present neuroleptic - a low blood level, below 5 ng/ml. Thus, the neuroleptic does not seem to be present in adequate amounts in plasma or brain. Probably the most common cause of this is that the patient is not taking the drug as prescribed...
