uestion:
Has the patient had a past history of being nonresponsive to an
adequate trial of any standard, typical neuroleptic? ("adequate"
is defined as eight weeks of no response or a partial response that
plateaued at an unsatisfactory level, at a dose that was bioavailable as
evidenced by the patient having neuroleptic-induced parkinsonism)
Note: A trial of risperidone that produced parkinsonian side effects could be considered equivalent to a trial of a standard, typical neuroleptic.
The history is quite certain: the patient had a poor response in the past
to a standard, typical neuroleptic, or to risperidone at a dose that produced
parkinsonian side effects.
